Ashley Cain
LPC Associate
Supervised by Dustin Swann, LPC-S
Ashley is an LPC Associate working under the supervision of Dustin Swann, LPC-S. Since 2021, Ashley has provided counseling to children, adolescents, and adults in both the school setting as well as in private practice.
Ashley is trained in play-based and activity therapy models to help children under 12 years old express their emotions, develop coping skills, and strengthen their connection to caregivers. Additionally, Ashley is trained in therapy models to help all ages with symptoms of trauma, awareness and enforcement of boundaries, anxiety, stress, parenting struggles, behavioral issues, and suicidal ideation.
Ashley's experiences of being a foster parent and having two children have led to Ashley's passion for supporting families through the challenges of parenting and providing a safe place for children and adolescents to explore, learn, and grow.
Ashley's approach to counseling is rooted in developing a strong therapeutic relationship. This means Ashley will work to establish rapport within the first few sessions and approach clients with curiosity and positive regard. Ashley has seen and experienced firsthand how a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe to express themselves freely and give/receive feedback in the therapy room can positively impact relationships outside of the therapy room.
